2019

2024 – Present

Took on an independent freelance engagement as a Senior Full Stack Developer for a US-based client, architecting and delivering a production-ready Payroll Management System from the ground up.

Sole technical lead responsible for end-to-end delivery — from system design and database modelling through to a polished, responsive frontend.

  • Designed and built a scalable REST API backend using Java (Spring Boot), handling payroll calculations, tax logic, and employee lifecycle management
  • Developed an interactive React dashboard for HR teams — covering payslip generation, leave tracking, and multi-role access control
  • Modelled and optimised a relational MySQL database schema supporting thousands of employee records with complex payroll rules
  • Integrated third-party APIs for US federal and state tax computation, direct deposit processing, and automated email payslip delivery
  • Implemented CI/CD pipelines and deployed the system to AWS, ensuring high availability and secure data handling compliant with US payroll regulations
